- ☐ USB cable; the monitor's USB ports or straight into the laptop
- ☐ A Mac or Windows machine for one session with Link Controller, only if gestures are off
Known so far (2026-10-25)
- Linux sees it as a standard UVC webcam, two video nodes, MJPEG and H.264.
v4l2-ctl --list-ctrlsshows the gimbal:pan_absolute(±522000),tilt_absolute(−324000…360000),zoom_absolute(100–400), continuous autofocus, white balance.- Tracking runs inside the camera. Turning modes on (tracking, gestures) goes through a vendor USB extension unit that Link Controller (Windows, macOS) uses; Linux doesn't expose it as a normal control.
- The monitor (Dell S2725QC) probably has one USB upstream (USB-C), so it likely can't hand the camera to a second computer. Check its menu for "KVM" or "USB selection".
